Franc Kirar (1893-1978) was considered an innovative beekeeper in the Kingdom of Yugoslavia in the field of honey production and queen rearing. His patented invention is the Kirar hive, which is widely used in Slovenia and Europe and is the name of a prize or award given by the Beekeepers' Association.
He moved bees to pasture in the republics of Yugoslavia in a truck, which is now on display in the Vintage Vehicle Museum in Fram, owned by Joško Obrovnik. At the peak of his work, there were around 750 hives and around 360 spare colonies. His beekeeping techniques are still in use today.
Franc Kirar was also socially active. He was the mayor of Kamnica - Maribor surroundings, the president of the Winegrowers' Association in Maribor, a committee member of the Beekeepers' Association for Maribor and surroundings and a Maistro fighter.
HONEY
SINCE 1978, 750 KG OF FRANC KIRAR'S HONEY HAVE BEEN STORED IN HIS HOUSE IN MALEČNIK, MARIBOR. HIS GRANDDAUGHTER, MAJA KIRAR, DONATED THE HONEY TO BOJAN LUNEŽNIK, OWNER OF THE SVAROG DISTILLERY COMPANY. DUE TO THE TYPE OF HONEY (FLORAL, FOREST), THE EXACT AGE OF THE HONEY CANNOT BE DETERMINED, BUT IT IS ESTIMATED TO BE BETWEEN 47 AND 60 YEARS OLD. A DECLARATION OF AUTHENTICITY OF THE HONEY HAS BEEN MADE BY THE OWNER OF THE COMPANY. PROOF OF THE IDENTITY OF THE HONEY WAS PROVIDED BY MAJA KIRAR. ACCORDING TO THE RESEARCH, THIS AGE OF HONEY DOES NOT EXIST ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD.
BOJAN LUNEŽNIK
Bojan Lunežnik is a maker of unique spirits, produced in his young family distillery Svarog. He produces his spirits in limited small batches of the highest quality and carefully selected herbs.He uses only natural and proven ingredients for his products.
He has received numerous international awards and distinctions for the exceptional quality of his products.His gin was the best Slovenian gin in London, with 95 points and a gold award. In California, his gins were the only Slovenian gins to be judged, for which he received silver awards. He has also received gold awards in Slovenia every year. In 2024, he was awarded the certificate of origin with the geographical origin OUR BEST. In 2023, he was awarded the Bob of the Year prize.
DESTILATION
DISTILLATION WAS STOPPED AT 60% ALCOHOL, RESULTING IN A DISTILLATE OF THE HIGHEST QUALITY AND FLAVOUR. WE HAVE ADDED SPECIALLY SELECTED VARIETIES OF WOOD TO THE DISTILLATE IN ORDER TO AGE IT. THIS PROCESS WAS CHOSEN MAINLY BECAUSE OF THE AGE OF THE HONEY. IT ALSO GIVES THE SPIRIT THE COLOUR OF AGED SPIRITS SUCH AS WINE, RUM AND WHISKY.
THE HONEY BRANDY HAS AN ALCOHOL CONTENT OF 39,8 % (ANALYSIS 912/2025/P), IS SOFT AND VERY AROMATIC.THE PRODUCT WAS ALSO ANALYSED FOR BAD ALCOHOLS, HIGH ALCOHOLS AND OTHER BAD COMPONENTS. ALL THE COMPONENTS OF THE SPIRIT ARE OF VERY HIGH QUALITY AND DO NOT CONTAIN ANY BAD OR PROHIBITED COMPONENTS.

REGULATIONS
You can reserve your number by prepaying on the official website / e-shop, where you can secure your entry into the history. Only 555 bottles will be available and will be sold at selected locations in 18 countries. Each will receive their unique bottle in person on the day of the event on 17 October 2025, where with the balance of the payment you will receive in your hand your very own Franc Kirar Honey Brandy number with a certificate and personalised dedication.
EVENT
On the day that Franc Kirar Honey Brandy sees the light of day, we have planned a special launch event in the heart of Maribor, home to the oldest vine in the world. The spirit will be presented and available for the first time on 17 October 2025 in the oldest vine house. Invitees will be treated to a host of unique culinary and visual delights.
AR STORY
A digitised 3D story and animation will be immortalised on the bottle, showing the story behind the product, demonstrated in AR. The bottle label will show selected bottle holders the special story of 2 immortal persons fused into an innovative, unique and unrepeatable product, available in 555 copies only. They will be able to view the content using a special code with their smart devices.
